An Age Contrived is a fantasy game of engine building and resource programming. You play as a god in the Eldranic pantheon, where your power is equal to the belief of the mortals populating this world. Your goal is to establish yourself as the dominant god of the pantheon by securing the belief of mortals, as you advance your realm from its dark ages to an advanced civilization.
Each player is given a character board and a transmutation device, which they use to channel their energy into the mortal realm. Energy is how a god exerts his will and is used to build monuments, acquire new tiles, and accomplish memorable deeds. Bind your energy to score points at the end of the game and unlock new energy to replenish your reserves. The game ends when the last monument is built, and the player with the most points wins.
During his turn, the player must either charge his transmutation device and program it openly, or use his energy to perform as many actions as he has already programmed. There is no chance in this game except in the shuffling of tiles to set up the game. The players' choices completely determine the course of the game.
The game features unique player powers to unlock, a board that players build differently each game, and there are 5 different ways to build your engine. You'll be encouraged to plan ahead, but you'll need to adapt your strategy to emerge victorious and dominate the pantheon.
